Bloomington Monument

The settlement of Bloomington, just south of St. George, was given its name because of the wealth of wild flowers.  Within a few short years of settling there, pioneers were growing vegetables, grains, and broom corn.  There were also orchards of nuts and fruit trees. Peaches were shipped as far a Chicago.  The best brooms throughout the area were produced in a broom factory.
